SWOF trail running races

Runners taking part in the South West Outdoor Festival running race

A wide range of trail runs - 10k, half marathon and marathon distance, plus 5k nightrun and 5k canicross - are taking place at SWOF 2019. See below for details on how to enter.

Trail Running

Five exciting trail-running races of differing lengths will be taking place during SWOF 2019, ranging from a 5k nightrun and a 5k canicross event (run with your dog) to a 10k trail run and a half- and full off-road marathon. These events, spread across the weekend, will explore Penrose estate and the spectacular sections of the South West Coast Path and singletrack trails that surround the festival site, taking in the most beautiful, remote and challenging elements of the sensational Cornish coastline.

The Penrose estate has large areas of woodland, Cornwall's largest natural lake, and a stretch of the world famous South West Coast Path, with Lizard Point - the most southerly point of mainland Britain - 12 miles down the coast path from Penrose.

All the races have a mixture of inland estate paths and coastline, from short sections in the 5 & 10k distances, to the marathon and half marathon races that are out and back on the South West Coast Path, maximising the time spent running along the stunning coastline between Penrose and Lizard Point, with views down onto beaches, bays and breaking waves.

Delivered by our fantastic partners Freedom Racing, the routes will be marked by arrows and tape and be overseen by marshals along the way.
