Help us bring the stories of Croft to life
Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge?
We're looking for people who love people. Croft is a place which dates back to the Domesday Book and has many rich and interesting stories and moments of history to uncover. You don't need to have historical knowledge of the castle though; we can help you with that when you get started.
Our castle volunteers have freedom to roam inside the castle, sharing stories they love with visitors, showing them parts of the collection they may not have seen before and helping families to engage with some of the memorabilia, costumes, stories and games we have to share.
Find out what Bronda Parsons loves about Croft and why she volunteers with us.
If you love entertaining a crowd or would enjoy showing people parts of the castle they wouldn't normally see, then tour guiding could be for you. All of our volunteer tour guides love to share their knowledge and learning new stories when researching about Croft. Full training will be given and we will give you plenty of time to learn all about Croft before your first tour. Our friendly castle team will help you with everything you need to know.
Some of our volunteers love to play the piano much to the delight of visitors.
Working with the Visitor Experience team, you'll be helping us bring to life Croft Castle and nearby Berrington Hall through inspiring events and activity. Help to set up, run and clear away after events such as Home Front weekends, musical performances, exhibition launches, the annual Kite Festival, Father Christmas's workshop and more.
We'd love to hear from you if you're enthusiastic, energetic, innovative and dynamic, with a flair for creating events and activity which engages our audience and inspires them to support the Trust's cause. Check out the opportunity here to find out more and apply.
