About 2 Compton Farm Cottages

One half of a pair of farm workers’ cottages close to Compton Bay close to the best surfing spots.

Wake up to views of the iconic chalky cliffs from one window and grazing cows in the other at 2 Compton Farm. It’s one in a pair of former farm workers’ cottages that perch on the edge of a down. It’s just a short stroll to one of the most beautiful beaches on the Isle of Wight, Compton Bay.

Don’t forget to pack your wetsuit as Compton Bay and nearby Freshwater are renowned surfing spots on the island. But if you’d prefer to stay dry, walking routes will lead you in all directions from the front door. Pick up the butterfly walk for a glimpse of the Adonis Blue that inhabits the chalk ridges.

You could walk further along the headlands for views of natural spectacle, The Needles and the secret rocket testing site that lies above. Mottistone Manor gardens are just a five minute drive from the cottage.

About the Acorn rating

We have applied a 1-5 acorn rating to each cottage to be used only as a guide that covers location, style of interior and facilities you may be looking for. The range runs from 1 Acorn at a more basic level such as Bird How which due to its stunning yet remote location doesn’t have a caretaker through to 5 Acorns at the highest level – such as Shute Barton.

Cottage pricing is not judged on the Acorn rating alone and as all our cottages are of an individual nature we recommend that all factors are considered when making your choice.
