About 3 Lytes Cottage

Taking up the whole west wing of Lytes Cary Manor, this huge property is perfectly preserved.

With the whole west wing of Lytes Cary Manor to yourself, you’re in for a week of luxury in this large seven-bedroom stay. Step back to the early 20th-century in its perfectly preserved interior, where wood panels line the walls and fine antique furnishings fill the atmospheric rooms. With seven spacious bedrooms, a grand dining room and a private terraced garden, this is the ultimate get-together pad.

You’ll be overlooking the intimate Arts and Crafts-style garden and parklands, with a tennis court and croquet lawn available in the drier months. The pretty Somerset town of Somerton is just a 10-mimnute drive form here. Cycle through the town on the South Somerset Cycle route, before heading out towards the rolling countryside.

Glastonbury Tor, just a 20-minute drive from the house, offers some of the best views of the Somerset Levels, Dorset, Wiltshire and Wales. Not only known for its famous music festival, Glastonbury is home to a quaint little town with colourful boutiques and quirky spiritual shops.

About the Acorn rating

We have applied a 1-5 acorn rating to each cottage to be used only as a guide that covers location, style of interior and facilities you may be looking for. The range runs from 1 Acorn at a more basic level such as Bird How which due to its stunning yet remote location doesn’t have a caretaker through to 5 Acorns at the highest level – such as Shute Barton.

Cottage pricing is not judged on the Acorn rating alone and as all our cottages are of an individual nature we recommend that all factors are considered when making your choice.
