About Broad Ley Cottage

A charming thatched cottage complete with open-beam ceilings and an inglenook fireplace.

Broad Ley is one of three adjoining holiday homes that form Mooredge Cottages, a former farmhouse on the border of the Killerton Estate. A sunning example of a traditional Devon farmhouse, the thatched cottage includes many original features from the open-beamed ceilings to the inglenook fireplace.

Spend the afternoon in the cottage’s large garden, lay a picnic and enjoy sweeping views over Killerton and beyond. Later, why not take a stroll to the pub in nearby Broadclyst?

Further afield, the wilds of Dartmoor beacon. Ramble across this starkly beautiful landscape, taking in waterfalls and rock formations. Afterwards, refuel with a cream tea in the town of Ashburton at the edge of the moors.

About the Acorn rating

We have applied a 1-5 acorn rating to each cottage to be used only as a guide that covers location, style of interior and facilities you may be looking for. The range runs from 1 Acorn at a more basic level such as Bird How which due to its stunning yet remote location doesn’t have a caretaker through to 5 Acorns at the highest level – such as Shute Barton.

Cottage pricing is not judged on the Acorn rating alone and as all our cottages are of an individual nature we recommend that all factors are considered when making your choice.
