Cymryd began life in the 15th century and was home to generations of the same family for more than 400 years. You’ll feel the historic significance of this Grade II-listed building in every room, thanks to the preserved beams, panelling, flagstone floors and stone fireplaces. We’ve added lots of comforts like big, velvet sofas, pretty fabrics and soft rugs.

From the sunny breakfast table to the atmospheric dining room, there are many favourite spots to choose from in this quirky home. Upstairs, notice the colour of the rafters that criss-cross the twin bedroom. They are blackened from the firepit that once burned in the middle of the dining room floor, then open to the roof space. The garden is a real delight, with climbing wisteria, twisted medlar trees and scattered pots growing all sorts of plants and herbs.

You’re just one field over from the estuary and opposite RSPB Conwy Nature Reserve, a haven for wetland wildlife. Walk a mile along the estuary path to Conwy, a medieval walled town with a castle and independent cafés, pubs and shops, or take a 15-minute drive to the sandy beach at Llandudno. You’ll have free entry to National Trust places during your stay, with Bodnant Garden, Penrhyn Castle and Plas Newydd House and Garden close by.
