About Degibna Lower Pentire Farm Housee
A lakeside hideaway with a country cottage interior and an enclosed garden.Degibna Lower Pentire Farm House is everything you could ever want from a holiday cottage, with its pretty white-washed façade, stacks of rustic charm and sweeping views. The house dates back to the 18th-century and its low-beamed ceilings, slate floors and log-burner give it a real country cottage feel. You’ll have your own enclosed garden complete with a picnic table. Although trees obstruct the view the cottage is very close to Loe Pool.
Explore the local area by foot; the restaurants, pubs and shops of Porthleven are a pleasant two-mile walk along the sands from here. Helston town is just two miles inland. Discover its folk heritage and stroll around its bustling streets in search of a hearty pasty or a traditional pub lunch.
Further afield, visit Goldolphin House, less than a 20-minute drive, for its acres of dramatic parkland and formal gardens. St Michael’s Mount, just a 30-minute drive to the west, is a must-see. From afar it looks like a mysterious island, but take the ferry or walk across the causeway when the tide is out, and you’ll discover its subtropical gardens and 12th-century castle.
