A fairy-tale thatch cottage in a magical forest setting.
There’s always something magical about staying in the midst of a forest; the eerie silence, the flittering of wildlife and carpets of spring flowers. Like the setting of a fairy-tale, this dreamy thatch cottage lies in the heart of the Ashclyst Forest, on the Killerton estate. You could explore for hours, before making your way back to warm by the log-burner in this cosy hide-away.
You could also explore the rest of the Killerton estate; its main house, gardens and parklands. Many events take place here throughout the year, from guided walks to outdoor theatre shows, so be sure to check them out before you leave.
And if you’re staying a little longer, why not venture to the wild uplands of Dartmoor. Or for a day at the seaside, drive to Exmouth, just a 30-minute drive to the south.

Heating: The cottage is heated by electric radiators. There is a log burner in the sitting room which will be laid for you on arrival with enough logs left for one evening. You will then need to supply your own logs for the rest of your stay. There are several local farm shops where these are available.
Parking: Parking for up to 3 cars within the grounds of the cottage.
Garden: The garden border is mainly hedgerow; therefore dogs will be able to access the forest and adjoining cottage garden unless supervised.
Television: A Television and DVD are provided, however please note the television reception is poor due to the location. Visitors may wish to bring their own DVDs.
Offers: Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4pm at this cottage.
Please note: With this cottage being situated within the wood we feel we ought to point out there are inevitably some ticks evident in the woodland - a part of the natural countryside.
Forest Cottage is a semi-detached property so there will be people next door during your stay.
