A traditional thatch cottage stay on the border of the Killerton estate.
Stay in a traditional Devon farmhouse complete with a thatch roof, low-beam ceilings and an ingle-nook fireplace. Mattress Cottage is one of three holiday homes that make up this large medieval cottage. It sits on the border of the Killerton estate and shares its garden with the adjoining holiday cottages.
Explore the house, gardens and parklands of Killerton. Lots of events take place here throughout the year, from guided walks to cider festivals, so be sure to see what’s on before you leave. For a classic pub lunch, head into nearby Broadclyst.
Further afield, explore the wilds of Dartmoor or ramble across the starkly beautiful landscape taking in the waterfalls and rock formations. Afterwards, refuel with a cream tea in the town of Ashburton at the edge of the moors.
