About The Slipway

A relaxed beach-side retreat awaits when you stay at this brilliant bolthole in surfer’s paradise, Croyde. This stylish apartment, perched on the first floor, is close to the waves for surfers, sandy beaches for families, and glorious walking and cycling routes all around on the South West Coast Path, so you’ll be guaranteed a break full of fresh sea air and incredible sea views.

Sitting at the start of the walk to Baggy Point, this two-bedroom first-floor apartment, with bike/surfboard storage is a great spot for a small family, or friends who love a coastal break. The ground floor has a shower room, perfect for washing off sand after a day on the beach, or warming up after a day surfing. Upstairs you’ll find the sitting room, kitchen and two bedrooms all with views of Croyde’s rolling waves. Even better, being above a National Trust tea-room means that there are always cakes nearby. Outside, you’ll have access to a vegetable garden and a courtyard (shared with the tea-room), and of course the glorious beach is only a short walk away for long, lazy picnic lunches.

Although you’re spoiled with the incredible beach right in front of you, and Croyde village not far beyond with its shops, pubs and restaurants, if you do venture further afield, then you’ll find lots more postcard-pretty beaches and coastal villages like Saunton Sands, Braunton Burrows and Woolacombe. Serious walkers will love being right on the South West Coast Path to stretch their legs, and families will adore North Devon’s sandy beaches for days together by the sea. Croyde is known for being a surfer’s paradise and the laid back feel of the whole area is the perfect setting for a relaxing seaside break that everyone will love.

Beyond the coast with its irresistible beaches, head inland to explore the Tarka Trail, winding through tranquil wooded river valleys and moorland, or discover the beautiful calm greenery of Watersmeet and the Heddon Valley while escaping the crowds. Spend some time at Arlington Court and the National Carriage Museum which is a Regency house with woodland walks, wild play area, Victorian kitchen garden and walled garden as well as the carriage museum. When you stay at one of our places, the funds from your holiday go towards looking after other special places like this.
