Starting life in 1961 as an MOD radar station, the Old Radar Station is a hideaway high on Stonebarrow Hill overlooking Lyme Bay and the rocky shoulder of Golden Cap. You’ll be in perfect walking territory, with the Stonebarrow walk starting from the doorstep and 25 miles of footpaths in the surrounding area. You can walk down to Charmouth’s beach in half an hour, and loop onto the South West Coast Path to hike further along the Dorset coastline.

The former station offers simple accommodation and is well equipped. There are lots of local activities for families, from a smuggler's trail to den building in Langdon Woods which is a 30-minute walk away over easy terrain. From April to October, there's a small coffee trailer next to the station.
