Wicket Nook is a former gamekeeper's cottage built in 1830 and is situated on a quiet no-through road with stunning views over the Calke Estate. You’ll love the character of this cosy cottage with its exposed wooden beams and stylish decor which will welcome you back after a day out and about exploring the local area.

Within easy reach of Calke Abbey and conveniently located close to East Midlands Airport, you can take advantage of the cottage's unique position and explore this beautiful building before the other visitors arrive. Later, discover some of the beautiful villages that surround the abbey and maybe stop for a drink or grab something to eat in one of the local pubs.

Or you could take the opportunity to learn about some local history on a trip to the nearby Ticknall Limeyards. Quarrying for limestone first began at this site in the 1400s.
