A stylish apartment in the curtilage of Tattershall Castle, with views across Tattershall Lake.
Enjoy a fairy-tale break in this cosy first-floor apartment with out-of-hours access to the grounds of Tattershall Castle, a magnificent 15th-century red-brick castle surrounded by moats.
Decorated in a comfortable and contemporary style, this two-bedroomed apartment is ideal for couples or a small family. Located above the Estate Office for Tattershall Castle, the dual-aspect combined kitchen/diner and sitting room area has views towards the castle on one side and the lake on the other. You’ll also have your own private garden, which slopes down towards the lake, where you can relax and take in the sights. Keep an eye out for bats – the castle is home to one of the largest colonies in Britain. You might also spot the Red Arrows, which regularly train in the skies over the area, or hear the distinctive sounds of the historic Merlin engines from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, based at nearby RAF Coningsby.
There is plenty to see and do at the castle including walking trails around the castle grounds and along the nearby river Bain. The historic village of Tattersall is just a 10-minute walk away, where you can enjoy a meal out at one of the two pubs. The village also boasts the grave of Tom Thumb, an impressive beam steam engine at Dogdyke Pumping Station and Just Wake water park, where you can try your hand at a spot of wake boarding and other water-based activities.
If you want to head further afield, the National Trust property of Gunby Hall is just a 30-minute drive away or you could spend the day in the city of Lincoln, where the cathedral, castle, museums and shops all wait to be explored. If you just want to get out and enjoy the great outdoors there are acres of rolling green countryside on your doorstep (Lincolnshire is one of the most rural counties in England) and the delights of the Lincolnshire coast are just a 45-minute drive away.
