About Ty Cipar
A remote spot within one of the best stargazing sites in Snowdonia, Ty Cipar cottage is a true escape from urban life.Hidden in the secluded Migneint moorland at the heart of Snowdonia, Ty Cipar offers the perfect retreat for those who want to get off the beaten track and reconnect with nature.
The wild, windswept landscape of the moor runs right to the doorstep of this cottage. It’s the perfect place to sit and absorb the sights and sounds of this Site of Special Scientific Interest, rich in both plant and bird life. Although six miles from the nearest town, other stargazers may occasionally park their cars nearby as it’s a top spot for dark Snowdonia skies.
The cottage has a traditional interior, complete with cosy log burner and games room in the adjoining converted barn. On the ground floor you’ll find a dining room, lounge, kitchen, and bathroom, with narrow stairs leading up to a master bedroom and twin above. The cottage’s electricity is supplied by a generator and therefore there are limited electrical items in the cottage.
Outside is a small garden and though parking is available in front of the cottage, it is advisable to arrive within daylight hours and bring a torch given its remote location.
The compact nature of this cottage and quirks of its historic build, such as low beams and steep stairs, does mean it’s unsuitable for children or those with mobility restrictions.
For those looking to unplug and explore Snowdonia, Ty Cipar’s location provides direct access to the National Park’s dramatic and varied landscapes. The Migneint is a popular walking destination providing numerous hiking opportunities without ever having to get into a car. The town of Betws y Coed is perfect for local amenities.
