About West Cottage

One of the best cottages to stay for scenic walks with the north Cornwall coast in sight.

If you had envisions of a chocolate-box cottage stay with far-reaching sea views, then West Cottage may just be what you’re looking for. This Victorian stone building sits high on a hill providing unrivalled views of the coast, which you’ll be able to enjoy from your own enclosed garden.

It’s full of charm inside too, with its flagstone floors, open fire and bright, cream bedrooms. From here, you’ll be able to stroll 10 minutes down the bridleway to the beach at Pentireglaze Haven, which links with Polzeath surf beach at low tide.

In the cottage’s welcome rucksack, you’ll find lots of walking trails that will help you make the most of North Cornwall’s beautiful landscapes. Hike through carpets of wildflower along the headlands, keeping your eyes peeled for grey seals and peregrine falcons that grace this stretch of coastline.

About the Acorn rating

We have applied a 1-5 acorn rating to each cottage to be used only as a guide that covers location, style of interior and facilities you may be looking for. The range runs from 1 Acorn at a more basic level such as Bird How which due to its stunning yet remote location doesn’t have a caretaker through to 5 Acorns at the highest level – such as Shute Barton.

Cottage pricing is not judged on the Acorn rating alone and as all our cottages are of an individual nature we recommend that all factors are considered when making your choice.
