About Restoring natural grasslands & meadowsConserve and restore Cliveden’s natural grasslands.
You’ll be mucking in alongside the ranger team for an exciting few days full of varied tasks and locations. During your time with the team, you’ll be helping to clear invasive species and overgrown vegetation to help restore the natural grasslands and increase biodiversity on the estate at Cliveden. As you help to clear various invasive species in an effort to restore the natural grasslands at Cliveden.
Cliveden’s glorious gardens, like the water garden, parterre and round garden; as well as the woods that line the cliffs above the Thames, will provide the backdrop to your days. The terrain is steep in some areas and the ground can be slippery underfoot. The weather can also be unpredictable at this time of year, so please come prepared.
About the accommodation
This bunkhouse provides rustic, basic accommodation which comprises two restored barns located amongst the woodlands and grassland of the Ashridge Estate. The first building comprises two dormitories each containing five sets of bunk beds. The second building contains the kitchen, lounge, toilets, showers and disabled facilities. The kitchen has been recently refitted and outside there is a lovely seating area. The wild fallow deer are regularly seen on the lawn outside the bunkhouse. There is no mobile signal in the bunkhouse but you should find some with a short walk into the nearby woods.
Facilities: drying room, garden, washing machine, tumble dryer, pay phone.
Bedding: only mattress cover provided.
Notes for guests
Sturdy footwear & suitable clothing for being active in the outdoors are required.
