About Winkworth Estate management
Join the Winkworth gardeners carrying out estate management work to maintain and develop the National Trust’s only arboretum. With a large variety of seasonal gardening and countryside management tasks for you to take part in, there’s something for everyone. You could be bulb planting, pruning shrubs, coppicing, fencing, repairing paths, hedge-laying and carrying out essential care of trees to improve our already impressive collection. There will be an opportunity for guided walks and a chance to work on our wider estate at Oakhurst Cottage in Hambledon village.
About the accommodation
Situated in a lovely rural location, but near the small market town of Haslemere, the bunkhouse is a countryside retreat on the edge of the South Downs National Park, with easy access to railway and road links to London and beyond. Situated on Swan Barn Farm surrounded by ancient meadows, woodland and orchards, this recently refurbished building has a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge complete with a wood-burning stove. There is plenty of outdoor space to sit and relax in as well as a barbecue area.
