Beautiful beaches in the South West

The South West has miles of coastline and many beautiful beaches. Here's a few for inspiration and how to find one near you.

Soar Mill Cove

Top beaches for a summer day in South Devon

Secluded coves or sandy playgrounds, there are many places along the South Devon coast for a day beside the seaside.

Scabbacombe beach

Peaceful beaches

If you're looking for a quiet spot on a beach away from the busyness of nearby Paignton and Torquay, why not check out Scabbacome or Man Sands beaches? Tucked away off of the South West Coast Path near Coleton Fishacre, these beaches are secluded, dog friendly and perfect for a picnic.

Children running through the dunes at Studland Bay

Summer at Studland Bay

Four miles of beautiful sandy beaches backed by wild dunes and sheltered, gently shelving bathing waters make Studland Bay a perfect slice of British seaside enjoyed by thousands of families every year. There’s a café, shop, free slacklining, volleyball and beach games plus plenty of opportunities for watersports including kayaking and paddleboarding. Well behaved dogs are welcome but please keep them on a lead of less than two metres anywhere on the beach between 1 May and 30 September.
