Picking blackberries is always a highlight of autumn and is a great family activity to enjoy with the kids, the only problem is not eating them all before you get home. Check out our best blackberry spots at Buckland.
Our gardens, parks, cafés, shops and countryside locations are open to visit. Houses in England and Wales will reopen from 17 May and houses in Northern Ireland are expected to reopen from 24 May. Advance booking for visits helps us keep everyone safe and socially distanced. At quieter times such as weekdays, booking shouldn't be necessary, but to guarantee entry we recommend booking in advance, especially at weekends and bank holidays. Please check the property webpage before you visit and follow government guidance.
Make the most of seasonal food with these recipes which celebrate the best of autumn produce. In the South West we care for acres of ancient orchards, so apples feature heavily in our recipes, as do foragable berries and other seasonal favourites.
We’ll be re-opening houses in the South West from May 17 in line with government guidance around social distancing measures to ensure they open safely for visitors, staff and volunteers. We are very grateful to our members and supporters for helping us work through these plans, and for their continued loyal support.
