7 Nations Touch Rugby
The National Trust in West Cornwall and Cornish comedian and actor Kernow King invite you to the second Duchy 7 Nations Rugby Tournament on Marazion Beach on Saturday 9 July from 11am to 5pm.
With iconic St. Michael's Mount as a dramatic backdrop, people of all ages and abilities will take part in a tournament that will include teams representative of the 6 Nations and also teams from Cornwall.
Edward Rowe, otherwise known as the Kernow King says, 'We love our rugby in Cornwall and after last year's 7 Ntaions success we are doing out family friendly tournament again on the beach.'
Come and cheer on your favourite team be it Wales, England, Italy, France, Ireland, Scotland or Cornwall. This is a family fun day, enjoying the spectacle of 5-a-side touch teams playing to be the best nation - before the tide comes in. Players have to be nine years old and over, playing in mixed teams in squads of ten.
Ian Marsh, General Manager says, “After a fabulous festival last year the National Trust are delighted to host the 7Nations Touch Tournament again on one of the most recognisable beaches in the world with its jaw dropping views of St Michael’s Mount. The beach rugby tournament is a wonderful opportunity for families and rugby enthusiasts to have fun at the coast. It will also help raise awareness and money that will support the National Trust in continuing to protect this and the other 300 miles of coastline in the South West. We are delighted to be working with Kernow King and RFU England encouraging visitors to enjoy Marazion Beach by getting outdoors and playing sport”.
The presentation at 5pm will award prizes to the overall winner, the best dressed team and the team which displays the best fair play.
