Support a conservation farming project run by a young farmer, by enjoying a box of delicious seasonal Welsh Mountain Lamb this autumn.

The lambs are born and reared on a very special farm, situated in the heart of Snowdonia or ‘Eryri’ in Wales. Llyndy Isaf extends from the shores of the beautiful lake, Llyn Dinas, up to the summit of Moel y Dyniewyd, and includes a mix of heath, bog and woodland habitats rich in wildlife.  

The farm is also home to our unique apprenticeship scheme, which provides a young farmer a chance to gain valuable practical experience of running a conservation farm. For the first time, our current apprentice, Teleri Fielden, will trial selling her lamb directly to local customers.

Lambs free to roam

Llyndy Isaf ewes are the native Welsh Mountain breed, suited to the harsh conditions experienced on the slopes of Snowdon. The small flock feeds extensively with cattle on herb-rich grasslands, while providing conservation grazing which encourages wildflowers, butterflies and birds on sites which are difficult to manage any other way.

Award winning quality

The lamb has recently won a National Trust Fine Farm Produce Award, which also considers the environmental credentials of the farm. The independent judges claimed that the roasting leg of lamb;

“Carved very well with a lovely sweet aroma and flavour, and melt in the mouth texture” (Richard McGeown, Executive Chef & Restauranteur, Couch’s Great House, Polperro.)

Butchered and processed in North Wales by a family butcher, the half or whole lamb box provides a cost effective way for a household to purchase high quality seasonal meat in bulk. You can then enjoy different cuts and flavours of meat, whilst happy in the knowledge you are supporting a farm which puts conservation first, and which supports the next generation of farmers.

What do I get?

A boxed and chilled mixture of different cuts, packaged separately and labelled- ready for cooking, chilling or freezing.
Cuts include; Roasting shoulder joint, roasting leg joint, lamb burgers or mince, loin chops, and various prime cuts and stewing meat.

A half lamb box tends to fill a small 10 x 6 x 13 inch freezer drawer, with a couple of cuts needing extra space. The half box contents tend to weigh between 6-8kg. They will be delivered in a cardboard box insulated with sheeps wool.

How to order

For the first year we are only able to deliver locally. Deliveries will be dropped off on certain dates during September. An email notification will be given around 2 weeks in advance. You can choose to pick up your box (which can remain chilled in its insulated box for up to 24h) at one of the following locations:
