Tours to the top of Penshaw Monument

You can climb to the very top of Penshaw Monument. From Good Friday to the end of September, we open the spiral staircase hidden inside one of the monuments pillars, letting groups of visitors up to the roof top to enjoy the view.

Penshaw Monument is a striking landmark of the North East and a symbol of home to those who live in the area. In 1844 it was built in memory of John George Lambton. Although it was designed to look its best from a distance, it’s definitely worth a closer look.
