7 - 22 April: Wild garlic fortnight

carpets of wild garlic in bloom

Wild garlic, also known as ramsons or wood garlic, is a relative of the chive. This aromatic plant carpets Prior Park every spring, and provides visitors with a fragrant walk.

We encourage you to come along and collect some wild garlic - it's a great ingredient to cook with. Paper bags will be available from reception.

There will also be a selection of recipe cards to pick up in the garden, to give you some inspiration for tasty treats to create.

There will be wild garlic pesto making sessions on 8 and 22 April - your opportunity to bring the family along to forage for the best leaves before coming down to the event area and turning them into a delicious jar of pesto.

We will also be offering you the chance to same some of the garlic at the Tea Shed. We're searching out the best scone and soup recipes in preparation. Products will vary, so look out for information on site during the fortnight.
