CB300 month at Prior Park
2016 marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, a designer who changed the national landscape and created a style which has shaped people’s picture of the quintessential English countryside. Join the celebrations throughout June at Prior Park.
Mystery surrounds the involvement of Capability Brown at Prior Park. A sum of £60 was still owed to him at the time of Ralph Allen’s death, though it is not clear what this fee covered. His influence on the garden is clear though, with rolling hills, the serpentine lake and typical garden features such as the gothic temple and lakes.
As part of the nationwide celebrations throughout the year, we'll be marking the occassion with events throughout June.
