Dawn and dusk kayaking for Birmingham Literature Festival

Team and canoeists from B-Row

On Saturday 7 October you can experience something a little different - kayaking trips on the canals at dawn and at dusk to get a really new perspective on Birmingham.

It's all part of the Birmingham Literature Festival - celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. All trips will start from the Roundhouse and will take in some of the most spectacular buildings in Birmingham, as seen from the waterways.

You can choose to see either the sun rise or set on the city, and draw inspiration for your writing from what you see.

Beginners are welcome - you'll be taken out with an experienced kayaker and guide.

After an hour on the canals, you'll return to the Roundhouse for a hot drink and a writing workshop.

The event, organised by Birmingham Literary Festival, is suitable for adults and children aged 8 and over. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
