'50 things' at South Milton Sands

Exploring rock pools on the beach and discovering sea creatures

After a popular programme of events that ran last year, the National Trust rangers in South Devon are once again running free family activities at South Milton Sands.

What's '50 things' all about?

There's nothing quite like fresh air, exercise and family time. You can't beat the fun you have in the great outdoors and creating memories that will last a lifetime. But sometimes convincing your kids to get outside can be a bit of a struggle.

That's why we've created '50 things to do before you're 11¾'. We want to encourage kids to get mucky, discover their wild side and most of all enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer!

'50 things' events at South Milton Sands

There is an extensive list of events including kite making and beach artrockpooling and our very popular evening event where you can join the rangers for a big night out on the beach. There will be watersports taster sessions, rockpooling, children's activities, lantern lit sundown parade, refreshments on sale in the Beach House cafe and more.

Tick off your '50 things' as family explorers

If you can't make one of the '50 things' events on South Milton Sands beach, you can still get out and tick off some as a family. South Milton Sands is wonderful to explore, and there are plenty of scary beasts to hold in rock pools and waves to jump before creating some of your own wild art.
