Fen Fauna, Flora and Folklore
An Illustrated Evening Talk by Ajay Tegala and Zoë Howe
- Booking essential
The Fens are steeped in history and shrouded in mystery. Local authors Howe (Witchful Thinking) and Tegala (Wetland Diaries) take you back a few million years to when Wicken lay under warm water, bringing you right up to date with celebrations of spring wildlife and honouring the land. Along the way, learn about local legends from the Lantern Men to Black Shuck, Fen Tigers and wise women, plus labourers' lives and the myth of Wicken’s missing policeman. People have had a close relationship with plants, animals and water for centuries, living off the land and concocting natural remedies. Join Ajay and Zoë for the A to Z of Wicken’s wild, weird and wonderful ways …sure to be a magical evening.
Please note that Pizza will be available on the Fen before- or to preorder for after the talk
