History health walk

Join us for a short guided history walk from Souter Lighthouse.

Join walk leader volunteers Peter and Hillary on a short walk from Souter Lighthouse to learn about the history of the area. At just over a mile distance, the walk will take no more than an hour on level terrain and bring you close to the site of the former Whitburn Colliery.

Afterwards there will be an opportunity to go to the Whitburn Coastal Conservation Centre and look at old pictures of the area, including photos of the 'Rattler' train. Free event, booking required. This event is aimed at adults and children over 16.

What to bring and wear

Please wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear.

Accessibility

The walk is about one mile long, on level terrain. There are accessible toilets in Whitburn Coastal Conservation Centre. There is a Changing Places fully accessible toilet opposite the Lighthouse Café.

Parking at Souter Lighthouse car park which is payable for non National Trust members.
