Join master Blacksmith David Gregory for a 1 day knifemaking workshop. In the course of this workshop you’ll learn how to forge a blade and make a simple ‘Viking’ style knife. This course is suitable for beginners as well as those who have some experience with Blacksmithing.
Starting with that all important chat about safety, you will then get straight to it, learning how to forge a blade and shape the handle. The course tutor will also demonstrate knife sharpening, as well as other knife making techniques.
This course is suitable for beginners, no prior blacksmithing experience is needed.
David Gregory is an experienced master blacksmith whose work includes original commissions and a wide range of restoration projects. David also occasionally takes commissions for film and television productions. This course is limited to six participants to allow everyone plenty of time with the course tutor.
The knife making course takes place on the 12 July, from 9.30am to 5pm. There will be a break for lunch and a mess room to eat lunch in, alternatively there is an on-site café. Tea and coffee provided.
