Cregennan Lakes

The largest of two lakes is 11 hectares with a beautiful small island and the smallest is 5 hectares. Both are home to blue and rainbow trout and other wildlife.

Head to the top of Pared y Cefn Hir, a nationally important geological site, to enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

With two sheep and cattle farms spread across heath and woodlands, the landscape is dotted with small drystone enclosures where livestock once sheltered.

As a designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) this site has plenty to discover, including species of mossy saxifrage, marsh St John’s wort and fen bedstraw.

This important location for the study of early Ordovician volcanic activity has a wide range of rock types including fossil-bearing marine sedimentary rocks and intrusive and extrusive volcanic rocks.
