Join us for a short 1-hour stroll to look for fossils and other treasures on the beach. Our staff will show you examples of what to look for and give you information about the different prehistoric marine creatures.
We will look at how to collect fossils safely and responsibly before setting out to find some for yourself.

The basics

Call 01723 870138 to pre-book your place, then payment is taken on the day. Cash only.
- Suitability
For aged 6+, children must be accompanied by an adult
- Meeting point
Meet opposite the Old Coastguard Station at The Dock in Robin Hoods Bay. No parking or car access in the lower village.
- What to bring and wear
Sturdy footwear & appropriate outdoor clothing. A Bag to put any finds into. No fossil hammers required!
- Accessibility
Parking at pay-and-display car parks at the top of the village. No parking in the lower village. The beach is accessed via a steep downhill walk through the village then a cobbled ramp or steps. Uneven surfaces on the beach.

The cost of the event is £3.00 per child attending. Well behaved dogs on a lead can attend.
