WASSA - a feast of folklore, fiction and fact

Bringing together a cast of historical and mythical characters associated with the building and local area.

WASSA is part of Meeting Point, a year-long project led by contemporary art specialists Arts&Heritage, featuring work from artists Lindsey Mendick and Dominic Watson.

Booking information

To ensure the safety of our visitors, staff, volunteers and local communities, we’ve reduced the number of people we can welcome at one time, therefore we recommend you pre-book your ticket via the ‘What’s on’ page to guarantee a timeslot. Where spaces are available, pre-booking isn’t always necessary.

Every Friday we release spaces for the following week. You can book until to 8am on the day of your visit. Due to limited spaces, we’re asking that you only book once a week to allow others a chance to visit. Please see our homepage for opening times and prices.

Please book one ticket per person, except for children aged 4 or under as they don’t need a ticket.

Tickets are for your use only and are not for resale.

Booking confirmation will be sent via email. Please make sure you fill in your correct email address when you book to ensure you receive this.

When you arrive

Unrestricted parking is available on the Avenue. Mobility parking is available onsite, please book before arrival by calling 0191 416 6879.

If you have not pre-booked your visit, we cannot guarantee availability. Where spaces are available, please bring a form of payment or your National Trust membership card for entry.

After you have visited the hall, you are free to explore the gardens for as long as you wish.

Children must be supervised at all times.

Staying safe

There will be a short talk to introduce the hall and brand new art installation, alongside relevant important safety information.

Toilet facilities are located in the garden, they will be cleaned once a day.

Face coverings are not compulsory but we recommend that you wear one in any area on your visit that is enclosed and crowded.

A Test and Trace QR code is available in the hall for anybody who wishes to use it.

Look out for signs while you’re here to help keep everyone safe.

If you’re showing any of the symptoms of coronavirus, or if you've been in contact with anyone that has the virus in the last 10 days, please don’t visit.
