Enjoy the summer at Washington Old Hall

Bug tracker week, 23-29 July

Here in the nuttery is a little pond, it's a haven for wildlife and this week you can find out what's living there, hunt for bugs and learn all about nature.

Create some wild art week, 30 July-5 August

With so many natural materials here the opportunities to create wild art are endless. From building daisy chains to nature looms and lots more. Let your imagination run wild.

A bug hotel

Make a home for a wild animal, 6-12 August

Learn all about the materials that are perfect for building bugs a comfy, five star hotel and what insects it will attract. Use the best branches to build a den and even a wildlife stack.

Watch it grow

Explorer week, 13-19 August

Come along and plant your very own pea to take home, then grow it and eat it. While it may take some time, they're delicious. Use twigs and other materials to build a mini-raft and enjoy bird-watching.

Wild willow week, 20-26 August

Use real willow to create a different item every day. It could be a beautiful birdfeeder to a dreamcatcher and even a crown. These activities cost £1.50 which goes towards the willow.

Magical fairy garden week, 27 August-2 September

Let's create a mini-garden and as the week goes on, enhance your mini-haven with twig teepees, hazel stick doors and pinecone fairies.
