Hare Hill pond dredging project appeal
Restoration work is urgently required to the ornamental ponds at Hare Hill Garden. But there is a problem - the heavy machinery needed can’t access the wooded pond area and would cause too much damage to the garden.
How the appeal adds up
- 60% of Cheshire ponds have disappeared in the last 150 years
- Over 100 UK priority species are associated with pond habitats
- We can remove 3 tons of silt using horse power in one day
" The horse is the most environmentally friendly method of doing this particular type of work... Carbon neutral, sustainable and powered by hay and grain produced by our solar system."
