Forest of Imagination
On 29 June – 2 July 2017 Forest of Imagination will take root in Bath for its fourth year. This year a whole host of artists will be creatively linking the urban edge of Bath to the Bath Skyline on Bushey Norwood.
The theme for this years event is 'where we feel at home', and the Skyline team will be interpreting this by literally putting your coffee table and sofa in the middle of a field, to bring: the indoors – outdoors.
The Skyline team will create and build a traditional sitting room, with sofas made from hay bales, (made from hay produced in the hay meadows around the Bath Skyline) brought into the pasture of Bushey Norwood, to sit alongside the Shepherd’s Hut.
The unique wild sitting room will provide some relaxing space for visitors to Forest of Imagination and it will also host a number of wildlife inspired crafts for children and adults to get involved with.
The idea of ‘home’ will be explored in a number of ways mixing up ideas of our human, urban homes with the natural habitat/homes of the flora and fauna that live on Bushey Norwood.
Each of the installations and artworks that form part of the Forest will be associated with a particular habitat and linked by a trail through the landscape offering a multi-sensory and memorable experience. The special nature of the site offers some spaces where specific timber installations, structures, shelters will be made to house artist workshops and making spaces. These will become temporary ‘Houses of Imagination’ within the landscape.
