Visit the Beatles' Childhood Homes
This tour is the only way to get inside the childhood homes of Lennon and McCartney. Lots of other tours will take you to look at the outside but this is the only way to see inside the unique places where John and Paul grew up and the Beatles were born.
Where does this tour go?
This tour is the only way to get inside the childhood homes of Lennon and McCartney. We therefore focus our tour time on showing you around these unique places and so our tours don't take you to other Beatles related locations.
How do I book tickets?
You can book tickets online here or over the phone on 0344 249 1895. If your booking includes tickets for wheelchair users or children under 5, please book over the phone.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking well in advance as tickets are limited to 15 per tour and they can sell out quickly, particularly on busy days. If you're planning a trip to Liverpool specially to take this tour, please book as far in advance as possible.
What if I want to bring a child with me?
That's absolutely fine! This tour is for Beatles fans of all ages and child tickets are available to purchase along with your adult tickets via the online booking system.
If your child requires a booster seat then we carry one of these on the minibus. If your child is younger and needs a car seat, please note that you must provide your own.
My child is under 5. Do I still have to pay for them?
Places are free for under 5s but we do still need to reserve a space for your little one on the tour. Please give us a call on 0344 249 1895 and we can organise making your booking over the phone.
I'm a wheelchair user. Can I still take the tour?
Of course. We will need to check availability and speak to you before booking your ticket, so please call 0344 249 1895.
Can I buy guidebooks for the houses?
You certainly can. There's the option to purchase them in advance when you book online - simply select the guidebooks option and they'll be waiting for you when you start the tour.
Guidebooks are also available at Mendips but please bring cash with you as we can't take card payments.
Where does my tour leave from?
The 10am, 11am and 2.10pm tours depart from Jurys Inn hotel in Liverpool city centre. The 3pm tour departs from Speke Hall, a National Trust property which is 7 miles south of the city centre, next to Liverpool Airport.
Please note that we very occasionally have to use Liverpool South Parkway train station as a departure point instead of Jurys Inn hotel when city centre road closures affect access to Jurys Inn. This change will be shown during the booking process and listed in your confirmation email, so please check these carefully.
Where is Jurys Inn?
It's on the Liverpool waterfront, next to the Albert Dock, Echo Arena and Convention Centre. Look out for the ferris wheel and you're right next to it! The postcode is L3 4FN.
Parking is available at the Albert Dock (tends to fill up quite early in the day), at King Park which is on the other side of the main road, or in the Liverpool One main car park. All of these are within a few minutes walk of Jurys Inn but please allow plenty of time to get parked and over to the departure point.
Where do I need to wait for my tour?
Please be at your departure point 15 minutes before your tour time.
If you're leaving from Jurys Inn then please wait in the foyer by the reception desk, not at the back of the hotel by the taxi pickup area. Our minibus driver will meet you there.
If you're leaving from Speke Hall, please ask the members of staff in reception and they'll show you where the bus picks up from.
What do I need to bring with me?
Your booking reference number and, if you're a National Trust member, proof of your membership. You can show your reference number on a phone or tablet, as a printout of your confirmation email or just written down, the choice is yours!
Can I meet the tour at the houses instead of taking the minibus?
Everyone must arrive on our minibus. Both houses are in residential neighbourhoods and we must carefully manage entry to the houses so as not to cause disruption to the neighbourhoods.
How long does the tour last?
Approximately 2 and a half hours.
Can I leave my bag on the bus?
Sorry, there's no space on the bus to store belongings. You'll have to take everything with you on the tour. Space is limited at the houses so your bags, cameras etc will be stored safely in a locked space at each house. Please note that we don't have the space available to store large bags and suitcases so please don't bring them with you on the tour.
Can I take photographs?
Unfortunately photography isn't allowed inside the houses for copyright reasons. There's some time at each house for you to take pictures outside though and if you want some images of the inside, why not buy a postcard or guidebook as a memento of your tour?
What if I can't make the time or date I've booked?
Please contact the National Trust Central Box Office on 0344 249 1895.
