Walking on the moor

Walkers crossing a leat on Trowlesworthy Warren, near Cadover Bridge, Upper Plym Valley

A variety of walks to choose from. You could....

  • Go to the head of the Plym if you're feeling adventurous.  It may take you a while, but the panoramic views are well worth the effort.  It's worth looking out for the Bronze Age archaeology along the way.
  • Climb a tor - Trowlesworthy, Hen and Calveslake tors are all nearby.
  • Look over the moonscape of the clay works from Shell Top and enjoy the stunning views over South Devon.

While you're on your walk, you may like to try letterboxing (a classic Dartmoor activity) or geocaching. You might be lucky enough to see some  unusual wildlife too.

You can choose to go wherever you want - these are just a few thoughts to get you started. It's a good idea to take a map and compass and wear suitable clothing and footwear though.
