Eating in the outdoors

Children enjoying a picnic at Lanhydrock

Our friendly restaurant and tea-room have fantastic meals, light bites and snacks if you're peckish, but if you just want to get away from it all and enjoy your lunch outdoors then pick up a sandwich or bring your own hamper filled with goodies and check out our picnic spots.

A family favourite

There are picnic tables outside the piggery and in the courtyard before entering the reception building which are perfect for eating your packed lunch at as you're in easy reach of the house and garden when you're ready to explore further and the toilets are close by too.

Hampers too heavy to carry?

If you don’t want to walk far then there's a picnic area near the main car park as you walk towards the reception building. The adventure playground is nearby, so this is a great spot if you're eating with children with small appetites but a hunger for fun.

Space for running around

If having fun is as important as eating this is the place for you. As well as the adventure playground there's plenty of open space here to throw a ball,  make goal posts with jumpers, spread out your picnic rug and while away the afternoon.

Protect our parkland

We hope you enjoy your picnic here but ask please help us keep Cotehele lovely by taking away any rubbish. Thank you.
