Teddy bear zip wire and duck races
Our teddy bear zip-wire last summer was so popular that we are bringing it back as part of a £1 million fundraising project for major restoration work on Coughton’s roof.
The team have constructed a perilous zip-line from the top of the tower, where little ones can watch their cuddly toy fly down from the gatehouse. Come along every Thursday throughout the school summer holidays (Thu 28 Jul – Thu 1 Sep), 2pm. Tickets, £3.50 per. teddy, will be sold from 11am – 2pm, event will start at 2pm. Normal admission applies.
Bring along your Paddington’s, Rupert’s and Winnies and watch them jump from the tower roof in this gravity defying stunt. Your teddy bear will be creating family memories so don't forget to bring along your camera to record the brave act.
" We’re so excited to bring back our teddy zip-wire to Coughton this year. The last couple of years have been particularly challenging for the team at Coughton but the zip-wire was enjoyed by many so we thought it would be a great idea run this event again to raise funds for our roof project and enjoy some light-hearted fun at the same time."
Certificates will be awarded to the brave bears who’ve taken a leap of faith to restore the roof, or if your bear is scared of heights why not just enjoy a teddy bears picnic in one of our designated picnic spots and treat them to a delicious ice cream from the Café.
Celebrate Father's Day, Sunday 19 June, by getting all the family together to sponsor a duck at Coughton's traditional duck race down the River Arrow, plus traditional games for families to enjoy and a delicious BBQ.
You can also celebrate the summer holidays in the same way. The races will take place every Tuesday from 26 July - 30 August.
The races will start at 2pm so please arrive early to buy your duck. Ducks will be on sale from 11am. From £3.50 per duck, special character ducks will be slightly more.
