Be inspired this half term at Croft
Pick up a half term trail from visitor reception, explore Croft's frosty parkland, find the natural play area and enjoy a hot cuppa in our cosy Carpenters tea-room.
A wicked spell has been cast over Croft. All of the ponds in the parkland have frozen over and the castle and gardens have been bewitched by an eternal winter. See if you can defeat Jack Frost on our half term trail; banish winter from Croft and herald the start of spring. From Saturday 16 to Sunday 24 February, see if you can complete our Jack Frost trail and claim your prize at the end.
Blow away the cobwebs and pop on your walking boots this half term, as we have nearly 1500 acres just waiting to be explored. Admire the breathtaking winter views from the top of Croft Ambrey and feel the crunch of frost beneath your feet as you weave in and out of our ancient trees. See if you can spot the snowdrops clustered around the trees in the front meadow and try your hand at bird watching through the bare winter branches in Fishpool Valley.
See if you can find the natural play area in the parkland, complete with rope swings and a den-building area. Be inspired by our bug hotel and see if you can make one at home. Don't forget to pop into our cosy Carpenters tea-room on your way home for a warming cuppa.
Head into the castle for some conservation in action; see if you can find all the bothersome bugs on our indoor trail and take part in a pesky pests workshop on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 February; discover the pesky pests which can damage our collections and how our house team keep them at bay.
