Shredded sprout, bacon and chestnut salad

Looking for something different to do with sprouts? Then try this tasty winter salad recipe, which combines them with the traditional Christmas flavours of chestnuts and cranberries. You could also adapt the recipe for other Christmas dinner leftovers.

  • 600g raw sprouts, shredded
  • 200g smoked bacon, cooked and shredded
  • 100g chestnuts, broken into small pieces
  • 40g dried cranberries
  • 60g spinach

For the dressing

  • 1 orange, juice and zest
  • 60ml cold-pressed rapeseed oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Step 1

Place the sprouts, chestnuts and cranberries in a bowl and mix well.

Step 2

Combine all the dressing ingredients together and pour over the sprout mix.

Step 3

Place the spinach in a serving bowl and top with the sprout mix.

Step 4

Finish with the shredded bacon and serve.
