Little boy tucking into his picnic

Whether it's cheese and pickle sarnies or a crunchy summer salad, there's plenty of places to enjoy a picnic on the estate.

Find your perfect spot...

For gorgeous summer views

Lay out your blanket on the banks of Big Pool and enjoy views across to the rolling Shropshire hills. This is a great place to spot wildlife on the water, or simply relax and watch the world go by.

Where the children can let off steam

Watch the children work up an apetite in the playground from the picnic benches in the orchard.

Find a shady and secluded spot

If you're looking to picnic in the great outdoors, head over to Comer Woods and find a leafy spot all to yourselves. The Scout Camp, on the Explorer route, is the perfect place to pause, or stop in Heath meadow, it's just a short walk from the car park.

Comer Woods is located on the A442 between Bridgnorth and Dudmaston's main entrance. Pay and display car parking free for NT members. Please remember to scan your card in the machine to help us raise funds for vital conservation and maintenance projects. Help us keep the woodland tidy. Bins are located in the car park.

Shelter from the rain

We can’t always promise sunshine, so if the weather takes a turn for the worse, you can shelter inside the Garden Room in the Brewhouse Courtyard.
