Mini beach cleans at Dunwich Heath

Family doing a beach clean at Woolacombe Beach

Every year, tons of discarded litter ends up in the sea and washes up on beaches all around the UK. It causes a danger to wildlife and people, and spoils the special places we care about, so we’ve launched a ‘mini beach clean’ scheme to encourage everybody to play a part in looking after our precious coastal habitats.

It’s easy to help care for the mile of beach at Dunwich Heath which is visited by many people all year round. Whether you’re a dog walker braving the winter winds or out with the family enjoying ice cream and jumping over waves in summer, all you need to do is grab a blue bucket and blitz the beach! You can pick up a blue bucket from the Visitor Information Centre (during our normal opening hours) and then spend as long as you want collecting litter whilst you’re on the beach. When you’ve finished, return your filled bucket to us and we will give you a free tea or coffee from the tea room!
