Family fun at Dunwich Heath!
Come and enjoy the great outdoors! Whether you want to discover nature with our walks, trails and free family activities, or simply take in the sea air and relax in our tea room, Dunwich Heath is the perfect place to enjoy days out this autumn.
50 Things to do before you’re 11 ¾!
There’s plenty of fun for all the family with our ’50 Things to do before you’re 11 ¾’! These activities are designed to encourage and inspire youngsters to explore the great outdoors, so pick up a ‘50 Things’ scrap book from our Visitor Information Centre and start collecting stickers for each ‘thing’ you complete! Have a go at self-guided activities such as Geocaching or den building, or why not borrow a tracker pack from our Visitor Information Centre and set off on an adventure? Explore Dunwich Heath by following our ‘Smugglers’ and ‘Discovery’ trails and see if you can solve the clues! During school holidays you can join in with team led activities on weekends & Wednesdays 11am – 3pm. These include activities such as bug hunting, pond dipping, wild art and mud pie making. Trails, tracker packs and Geocaching are available daily during normal opening hours.
Bird Ringing Demonstrations
Tuesdays from 8am (subject to weather conditions!)
A special opportunity for a close up look at some of the birds which make their homes here at Dunwich Heath. Join ringers from Waveney Bird Club to find out more about this important conservation work. It’s a great opportunity for children to engage with nature and seeing some of our best-loved birds up close. Please note this event is highly dependent on conditions being suitable for the safety of the birds, so times may vary, or it may be cancelled at short notice – please contact us if you’re travelling especially for this event.
