National Trust welcomes visitors for European Heritage Open Day

Europen Heritage Open Day 2018 National Trust Northern Ireland

We are delighted to support European Heritage Open Day 2018 and will be opening a number of our special places for free on Saturday 8 September.

European Heritage Open Days (EHOD) is a Europe-wide event, held annually to promote interest in historic and modern buildings by the public. The theme for 2018 is The Art of Sharing which presents an opportunity to share our heritage stories through our buildings and their connections to location and people.

As a conservation charity, we play a huge role in the protection and preservation of coast, countryside, mansions and gardens in Northern Ireland and we love how EHOD gives everyone with an interest the chance to visit these special places free of charge.

This ever-popular celebration of our rich and varied historic environment is organised by the Department of the Environment, and attracted a record number of visitors last year. We look forward to welcoming you to one of our special places free of charge on Saturday 8 September (see below for participating places and opening times).

Our hope is that after seeing the great conservation work that we do, you’ll consider becoming a member so you can explore time and time again.
