Amanda Brennan and Ian Smith

Amanda Brennan and Ian Smith are getting married at Hidcote in Gloucestershire in August 2016.

We met five years ago on a Trust working holiday at Attingham Park in Shropshire. Although we wanted to meet like-minded people, neither of us was looking for a relationship. But we really hit it off, and when we got in touch with each other later, love blossomed.

Since then we’ve done three working holidays together, including at Hidcote, an Arts and Crafts garden made up of lots of outdoor ‘rooms’. It’s a special place for us as we have so many memories of our holiday there. After the public left for the day we’d wander around and it felt like our own world.

After Ian proposed last May we knew that there was nowhere else we’d want to get married, and we can’t wait to share this beautiful place with our friends and family. Afterwards, we’re hoping to move to the Cotswolds to enjoy a more rural life and indulge our passion for gardening.
