Finding a lasting and meaningful way to remember your loved one is important. We can help you make the perfect tribute with a donation in memory of someone special.

Donations in memory of a loved one can bring comfort at a time of loss and help honour someone special by remembering all the happy moments you spent together.

Whether you want to donate in memory to a specific National Trust place you enjoyed together, or more generally to our vital conservation work, thank you for sharing your precious memories with us.

Moments treasured

When you make a donation to the National Trust in memory of someone special, you'll be able to tell us who you're remembering and why.

Maybe there's somewhere that holds precious memories for you – a beach where you held hands and paddled in the shallows, a favourite countryside view where you would rest and talk, or a garden where you walked through the snowdrops on fresh spring mornings.

Only you know which places meant the most to your loved one, and how they'd like to be remembered.

Whether you choose to dedicate a donation to a specific place using our interative map, have your in memory donation recorded in one of the many memorial books at our places, or set up an in memory JustGiving page - thank you for your support.

In memory gifts

A donation in memory is a wonderful way to celebrate your loved one's life and passions.

You can choose to donate in memory to a particular place or conservation project that holds special meaning for you and a loved one. Or if you prefer, you can make a more general donation in memory to help look after all the special places in our care. The decision is yours.

Memorial gifts

Every gift made in memory can be remembered in one of the Memorial Books that are held at our places. We can record your dedication to your loved one and include your personal message.

To keep our places special for ever for everyone, unfortunately we don’t put plaques on buildings or furniture.

Donating a memorial collection

At the funeral or memorial service of a loved one, friends and family sometimes like to have the option of giving a donation gift to a charity. We are very grateful to all who remember their loved one with a gift to the National Trust in this way. Funeral directors can arrange this for you and send your kind donations to us. Alternatively, you might prefer to do that yourself.
