In memory gifts

Visitors in the Orchard at Washington Old Hall, Tyne & Wear

Finding a lasting and meaningful way to remember a loved one is important and we can help you make the perfect tribute.

Maybe there's somewhere that holds precious memories – a beach where you walked together and enjoyed the sea air, a favourite view which reminds you of a special moment or a garden where you spent memorable afternoons. Only you know which places meant the most to your loved one.

Or perhaps you just want to find a fitting way to celebrate them. Maybe they had a love of the outdoors, wild places, gardens, art, history, or wildlife.

Your gift in memory could be used as a general donation to our conservation work, or to protect a particular place in our care. The decision is yours.

Donating a memorial collection

At the funeral or memorial service of a loved one, friends and family sometimes like to have the option of giving a donation to a charity. We are very grateful to all who remember their loved one with a gift to the National Trust in this way. Funeral directors can arrange this for you and send your kind donations to us. Alternatively, you might prefer to do that yourself.

Sending us your memorial collection

Cheques should be made payable to ‘National Trust’. Please don’t send cash in the post. Send to:
