Alongside the glamorous lives of the families who lived in the grand country houses of Castle Ward and Castle Coole, there was drama and excitement below stairs too.  

The surviving servants' quarters and memories of those who spent their life `in service' provide a fascinating glimpse into the hierarchy amongst servants – from the footmen and lady's maids to the cook and butler.
