Meet Hilary: member events with our Director-General

Meet our Director-General Hilary McGrady at a special members-only event near you.

Members play a crucial part in what the National Trust does – it’s your questions, ideas and experiences that help shape our work.

Hilary travels the country again this year to meet members. Your views matter and we want to understand how you'd like the organisation to look over the next decade, so there will be lots of opportunities to share your thoughts. The Director-General will also share her vision for the future of the charity, and talk about the places that continue to inspire her.

You’ll learn about the important conservation work that your membership makes possible - from restoring beautiful and healthy natural environments, to looking after historic collections. Hilary will be joined at each event by an expert who’ll give first-hand insights into some of our most exciting and innovative projects.

These events have a limited number of places, and local members will be given priority. These are invitation only events. If you live in the area but haven’t received an invitation, please contact the property.

Due to the coronavirus situation all members-only events are cancelled until further notice. Any new dates will be announced on this page as soon as possible.

Working together to tackle climate change

Challenges in caring for places we love, and the changes in how we do so, have been brought about by the climate emergency. We need to come up with new ways to cope with the impacts, which will affect not only wildlife and areas of natural beauty, but buildings and collections too. Patrick Begg, our Outdoors and Natural Resources Director, takes a look at future plans for tackling climate change.
