Mother's Day in Northern Ireland
This Mother’s Day on the Sunday 26 March, treat your mum to a special and memorable day out at one of our special places in Northern Ireland.
Whatever your mum’s personal passions may be, whether it’s gardening or wildlife, conservation or afternoon tea, our magical houses, gardens and outdoor spaces are the perfect place to spend quality time together.
Spend quality time outdoors
Enjoy a good old gossip as you stroll around the gardens at Rowallane, Mount Stewart or Castle Ward. Go back to your childhood and spend an invigorating afternoon collecting shells on the beach at Portstewart Strand, Murlough Nature Reserve or White Park Bay.
Go on a house tour
Share fond memories together as you learn how other people lived with a tour of the house at Springhill, The Argory, Castle Coole, Florence Court, Mount Stewart or Castle Ward. This year at Castle Ward visitors and their special mums can take a special house tour to see what 'ladies would have done' during the time of the Ward's - from linen to needle work, this really is a tour with a difference. There will also be crafts for all ages to get involved in to give you the opportunity to make something for the special woman in your life.
Treat yourselves to Afternoon Tea
Of course no day out would be the same without a cup of tea and a scone in the tearoom. This Mother’s Day a number of our places are taking booking for special afternoon teas. Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea at The Argory is a scrumptious event served in the Octagon Room of the house. At Mount Stewart you can indulge with a glass of bubbly and live music as you treat your mum to Afternoon Tea. At the Causeway Hotel, enjoy a tasty carvery lunch together before walking along the Causeway trail down to the Giant Boot.
