Mother's Day in Northern Ireland

Mothers day events with the National Trust in Northern Ireland

This Mother’s Day on the Sunday 11 March, treat your mum to a special and memorable day out at one of our special places in Northern Ireland.

Whatever your mum’s personal passions may be, whether it’s gardening or wildlife, conservation or afternoon tea, our magical houses, gardens and outdoor spaces are the perfect place to spend quality time together.

Spend quality time outdoors

Enjoy a good old gossip as you stroll around the gardens at Rowallane, Mount Stewart or Castle Ward. Go back to your childhood and spend an invigorating afternoon collecting shells on the beach at Portstewart Strand, Murlough Nature Reserve or White Park Bay.

Of course no day out would be the same without a cup of tea and a scone in the tea-room. This Mother’s Day a number of our places are taking bookings for special afternoon teas. Treat yourself to a mini cream tea for two in the tea-room at Castle Ward (£10 for two). At Mount Stewart you can enjoy afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco while enjoying live music (adult £25, child £12.50).  At the Causeway Hotel, enjoy a tasty carvery lunch together before walking along the Causeway trail down to the Giant Boot.

Go on a house tour

Share fond memories together as you learn how other people lived with a tour of the house at Springhill, The Argory, Castle Coole, Florence Court, Mount Stewart or Castle Ward.
